Transforming Mental Healthcare
The Institute for Essential Care (TIFEC) is a privately owned behavioral health company located in George Town, Grand Cayman. It began operating in January 2022 with its owner as the only employee but currently consists of a team of two clinical psychologists, one counseling psychologist and an educational psychologist. The company operates five days per week providing a range of mental health, psychological, psychoeducational and spiritual health services to residents of the Cayman Islands. To maximize the confidentiality of our clients, all our appointments are done privately either through our website or via direct telephone calls.
Mission and Vision
Our mission is to provide safe and effective mental health care through ethical and professional delivery of services to clientele of diverse cultures and to create, promote, and maintain a positive customer relationship with our clients, third parties, associates, staff, and our community. Our focus is to provide quality treatment in a safe and confidential manner and to be the single most effective mental health care facility in the Cayman Islands.
TIFEC is unique within the Cayman Islands as it provides among other services a strong emphasis on family health and spiritual care. Our clinicians espouse Christian virtues and have developed the art of incorporating the spiritual beliefs of their clients into their process of healing.
Payment Information
Fees for services rendered are dependent on the type of service offered and are discussed in your first session. In addition to the standard one-hour weekly appointments, you may be charged for other professional services such as report writing or telephone conversations lasting longer than 15 minutes.
Insurance and Reimbursement
In order for us to set realistic treatment goals and priorities, it is important to evaluate what resources you have available to pay for your treatment. If you have a health insurance policy, it will usually provide the major part of your coverage for mental health treatment. We accept most of the major insurance cards on the island. However, any portion of the fees that your insurance does not cover may be charged to you.
Once we have all the information about your insurance coverage, we will discuss what we can expect to accomplish with the benefits that are available and what will happen if they run out before you feel ready to end your sessions. It is important to remember that you always have the right to pay for my services yourself to avoid any issue with third-party insurance.
Cancellations
Once an appointment hour is scheduled, we encourage you to provide us with at least 24 hours advance notice if you need to cancel. This allows us to fill your appointment slot with another client and avoid you being charged for the missed session. In the event that we both agree that you were unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control, you will not be charged. Should you need to cancel an appointment, we recommend that you do so verbally. A cancellation via email or text becomes effective, only when you receive a confirmation response from our team acknowledging our receipt of your cancellation.
